表示“数量”时：
指相对于质量来说的“数量”，为不可数名词。例如：We've always put quality before quantity.（我们总是认为质量比数量重要。）
指具体的数量，一般为可数名词，这时可以连用不定冠词或者用复数形式。例如：He ate a small quantity of rice.（他吃了少量的米饭。）
作主语时：
"a quantity of+可数名词复数"作主语时，谓语动词用复数；"a quantity of+不可数名词"作主语时，谓语动词用单数。例如：A large quantity of imported beer has been sold.（已经售出了大量的进口啤酒。）
