翻译《蜀道难》: 噫吁嚱 ,危乎高哉!蜀道之难,难于上青天!蚕丛及鱼凫,开国 何茫然 ! 尔来四万八千岁 ,不与 秦塞通人烟 。 西当太白 有 鸟道 ,可以 横绝峨眉巅 。 地崩山摧壮士死 ,然后天梯 石栈 相钩连。上有 六龙回日 之 高标 ,下有 冲波逆折 之 回川 。 黄鹤 之飞 尚 不 得 过, 猿猱 欲度愁攀援。 青泥 何 盘盘 , 百步九折萦岩峦 。 扪参历井 仰 胁息 ,以手抚 膺坐 长叹。 问 君 西游何时还? 畏途巉岩 不可攀。 但见 悲鸟 号古木 ,雄飞雌 从 绕林间。又闻 子规 啼夜月,愁空山。蜀道之难,难于上青天,使人听此 凋朱颜 !连峰 去 天不 盈 尺,枯松倒挂倚绝壁。 飞湍 瀑流争 喧豗 , 砯崖 转石万 壑 雷。其险也如此, 嗟 尔远道之人 胡为 乎来哉! 剑阁 峥嵘而崔嵬, 一夫当关 ,万夫 莫开 。 所守或匪亲 ,化为狼与豺。 朝 避猛虎,夕避长蛇;磨牙 吮 血,杀人如麻。 锦城 虽云乐,不如早还家。蜀道之难,难于上青天,侧身西望长 咨嗟 !

Hard is the Road to Shu

Alas! behold how steep and high!

The road to Shu is harder than to climb the sky.

Since the two pioneers

Put the kingdom in order,

Have passed forty-eight thousand years,

And few have tried to pass its border.

Only birds could fly o'er from the west

On Mount Omei. But earth was cleft and mountains overthrown

When heroes brave forced the pass. Then stone

Ladders and wooden rails were linked between.

Above stand peaks too high for dragons to pass o'er;

Below the torrents run back and forth, churning up foam and roar.

Even the golden crane can't fly across;

How to climb over, gibbons are at a loss.

What tortuous mountain path Green Mud Ridge faces!

Around the top we make nine turns each hundred paces.

Looking up breathless, I could touch the stars nearby;

Beating my breast, I sink on the ground with a sigh.

When will you come back from this journey to the west?

How can you climb up dangerous path and mountain crest?

There you can hear on ancient trees but sad birds wail,

Male birds fly to and fro after the female;

And hear cuckoos weep'neath the moon in a dreary vale.

The road to Shu is harder than to climb the sky.

On hearing this, your cheeks would lose their rosy dye.

Between the sky and peaks there seems less than a foot;

Withered pines hang, head down, o'er the cliff, looking foot.

Gurgling cataracts and roaring waterfalls

Echo from cliff to cliff and rock to rock' mid squalls.

So dangerous these places are!

Alas! why should you come here from afar?

Rugged is the path between the cliffs so steep and high,

With one man guarding the pass, ten thousand can't pass by.

If he were not reliable,

He would turn wolf'gainst his kinfolk.

In the morning you may escape the voracious tiger;

In the evening the long serpent may devour you.

They lick their lips on blood of people they slew.

Though silk-washing town is a paradise on earth,

I would advise you not to go there, but go home first.

I would turn westward, heave deep sigh on sigh.
